What Exactly is Bambara?

Bambara is a nutrient-dense legume that is considered a “complete food.” Bambara contains quality carbohydrates, proteins and fats as well as essential amino acids and necessary vitamins. The bambara groundnut flourishes in drought-stricken climates and grows without the use of fertilizers or pesticides.

Our bambara is sourced directly from a women’s farming cooperative in Ghana. Every purchase from BiB helps local female farmers support their families and communities.

Bambara is cousin to the peanut. Those with peanut allergies should avoid bambara.
